A new decision has been taken regarding the sacred traditions of the famous Himalayan shrine . The temple management body, (BKTC), has decided that the holy Roop Chhadi connected with the temple will no longer be taken outside the state of Uttarakhand.
The Roop Chhadi is considered a sacred symbol associated with Lord Shiva and the spiritual traditions of Kedarnath. In the past, it was occasionally taken to different places during religious visits and ceremonies. However, after discussions and consultations, the temple committee has now decided that this sacred object should remain within Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
According to the BKTC officials, the decision has been made to protect the religious dignity and cultural importance of the tradition. Keeping the Roop Chhadi within the state will also allow devotees visiting Uttarakhand to connect more deeply with the temple’s rituals and heritage.
Many devotees and local religious leaders have welcomed the decision. They believe that sacred objects linked with ancient temples should remain close to their original spiritual centers. This step is also expected to strengthen the spiritual identity of Kedarnath and preserve its long-standing traditions.
