The Pushkar Singh Dhami-led government in Uttarakhand may soon undergo a cabinet expansion and reshuffle, with new faces expected to join the council of ministers. Sources indicate that Chief Minister Dhami could travel to Delhi on Monday to hold discussions with the central leadership of the BJP regarding the proposed changes.
The expansion is likely to take place during Navratri, considered an auspicious period for major political decisions. Currently, seven districts in the state are without any representation in the cabinet, and there is growing speculation that MLAs from these underrepresented regions may be inducted to ensure balanced regional representation.
The move is seen as part of the BJP’s broader strategy to strengthen its governance structure ahead of future political milestones and to reward performance and loyalty within the party ranks.
While the final list of potential inductees remains under wraps, party insiders suggest that the decision will reflect a blend of experience, regional balance, and political considerations. The cabinet reshuffle is expected to energize the administration and enhance delivery on key developmental goals.
More clarity is expected once CM Dhami concludes his discussions in the national capital.
