March 11, 2025 | Dehradun:
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday inaugurated four new helicopter services, enhancing air connectivity between Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar, Mussoorie, and Haldwani. This development marks a significant step toward improving transportation and promoting tourism in Uttarakhand’s scenic and culturally rich regions.
The newly launched helicopter routes connect Dehradun to Nainital, Bageshwar, and Mussoorie, as well as establish an aerial link from Haldwani to Bageshwar. These services are expected to drastically reduce travel time, offering a faster and more comfortable option for both tourists and locals.
Speaking at the inauguration event, CM Dhami expressed optimism about the positive impact of the services. “Under the Udaan Scheme, these helicopter services will give a strong boost to tourism and economic growth in the state,” he said. “Better connectivity will bring about meaningful improvements in the lives of local residents, enabling easier access to remote areas.”
The Chief Minister also highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of the destinations now connected by air. “Bageshwar, Nainital, and Mussoorie are not just tourist hotspots but also centers of rich heritage and spirituality,” he noted. “Their breathtaking natural beauty, serene valleys, lush green hills, historic temples, and vibrant culture attract visitors from across India and around the world.”
Officials believe that these helicopter services will encourage more tourists to explore Uttarakhand’s hidden gems, while also facilitating faster movement of goods and services in the region.
With this initiative, the government aims to strengthen infrastructure, improve accessibility, and pave the way for sustained growth in Uttarakhand’s tourism sector.
