In a strong message aimed at preserving peace and unity, the Chief Minister today addressed growing concerns over the politicization of religion, cautioning the public against falling prey to divisive narratives.
“We do not condone any violent activity. Some political parties are trying to misuse religion for political gain. Do not give in to their persuasion,” the Chief Minister said while speaking at a public event earlier today.
The statement comes amid rising tensions in several regions, where reports suggest that certain political factions have attempted to stoke communal sentiments ahead of the upcoming elections. While the CM refrained from naming any party directly, the message was clear—religion should never be a tool for political ambition.
“Peace and harmony are the foundation of our society. I urge all citizens, regardless of faith, to stand united against hate and manipulation,” the CM added.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding law and order, promising strict action against those inciting violence or spreading communal unrest.
Civic leaders and social organizations have widely welcomed the CM’s remarks, calling them a timely reminder in an increasingly polarized atmosphere. “It’s important for people in power to speak out against this trend. We must protect our secular fabric,” said Anjali Rao, a social activist from the state.
With elections nearing, the administration has also ramped up monitoring of inflammatory content online and increased security presence in sensitive areas.
The CM ended the address with a call for unity and urged voters to choose leaders based on their work and vision—not divisive rhetoric.
