Selakui, February 8, 2025 — A wave of devotion swept through the town of Selakui on Saturday as hundreds of devotees gathered at the Khatu Shyam Dham temple on Raja Road to mark the sacred occasion of Ekadashi. The temple was adorned with stunning floral decorations as part of a grand ritualistic beautification (shringar) of Baba Shyam.
From the early hours of the morning, long queues of devotees could be seen outside the temple, all waiting patiently for a glimpse of Baba Shyam. With folded hands and deep faith, worshippers offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and well-being of their families.
The spiritual atmosphere was elevated further with a soulful bhajan session, led by renowned devotional singer Udit Anubhav Narayan. His powerful renditions of popular hymns like “Haare Ka Sahara Baba Shyam Hamara”, “Tere Darshan Paane Saawariya”, and “Tum Na Sunega Toh Kaun Sunega” filled the temple with divine energy and left the crowd swaying in devotion.
Speaking on the occasion, temple founder Gaurav Gupta shared that such celebrations are held on every Ekadashi, with devotees coming together to chant, sing, and celebrate the divine presence of Baba Shyam.
In a special gesture, Sumit Chaudhary, the newly elected chairman of the Nagar Panchayat, gifted an ambulance to the temple committee—a move welcomed by the devotees and temple organizers as a valuable addition to support community welfare and emergency services.
The Ekadashi celebration concluded on a high note with the distribution of prasad and collective prayers, leaving devotees spiritually uplifted and grateful.
This event was yet another reflection of how spiritual faith and community service come together to create a vibrant and inclusive celebration of devotion in Uttarakhand.
