Vikasnagar, April 2025 — Promoting wellness and traditional values, a one-day yoga camp was organized on Sunday at the Government Inter College, Bheemawala, specifically aimed at creating health awareness among schoolgirls.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 30 students, both girls and boys, who actively engaged in yoga sessions under the guidance of trained instructors. The event focused on teaching foundational yoga postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation practices to support physical and mental well-being.
Principal Sunil Agarwal, who addressed the students during the session, emphasized the holistic benefits of yoga, calling it a “gift for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.” He underlined yoga’s roots in India’s ancient cultural heritage, reminding students that regular practice can help them build inner strength and resilience.
“Yoga is not just exercise—it’s a way of life,” said Agarwal. “In today’s fast-paced world, especially for young students, yoga helps reduce stress, improves focus, and nurtures a healthy mindset.”
He encouraged the students, particularly the girls, to incorporate yoga into their daily routine to remain mentally calm and physically fit. The interactive session also included a short discussion on the science behind yoga and how it aids in managing anxiety and academic pressure.
Students expressed enthusiasm and interest in learning more about yoga, with many saying they felt refreshed and more focused after the camp.
Such initiatives reflect the growing emphasis on integrating health, mindfulness, and tradition into the education system, ensuring students develop not only intellectually but also emotionally and physically.
The school administration plans to conduct similar wellness programs in the future, recognizing the need for holistic education in shaping well-rounded individuals.
