Dehradun, February 24, 2025 — In a significant boost to the farming community, the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was released on Saturday. Over 8.21 lakh farmers in Uttarakhand received a total of ₹181 crore directly into their bank accounts under the central government’s flagship scheme.
The installment was officially released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed farmers across the country via video conference. As part of the initiative, eligible landholding farmers receive ₹2,000 every four months, amounting to ₹6,000 annually, to support their agricultural and household needs.
In Uttarakhand, the scheme continues to provide much-needed relief to small and marginal farmers, especially during times of rising input costs. State Agriculture Department officials confirmed that all verified and eligible beneficiaries were included in this latest disbursal.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the move and thanked the central government for its continued support of farmers. “The PM-KISAN scheme has become a lifeline for our farmers. The funds help them manage seasonal expenses and reduce dependence on loans,” he said.
The scheme, which began in 2019, has now entered its sixth year and remains a key pillar of the government’s farmer welfare policy. Authorities also urged farmers who have not yet registered or completed e-KYC verification to do so at the earliest in order to receive future benefits without delay.
With this release, the total number of installments under PM-KISAN has reached 19, reinforcing the government’s commitment to economic empowerment and income support for India’s rural population.
