UKPSC Releases Updated and Detailed Syllabus for Uttarakhand PCS Exam 2025

Dehradun, February 26, 2025 — The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has officially released the updated and detailed syllabus for the Uttarakhand Provincial Civil Services (PCS) Examination 2025. The revised syllabus includes a comprehensive structure for both the Main Examination and the Interview, totaling 1650 marks.

According to the notification issued by UKPSC, the Main Examination will carry 1500 marks, spread across a series of descriptive papers, while the personality test (interview) will be of 150 marks. This update aims to ensure better transparency, clarity, and alignment with national competitive examination standards.

Key Highlights of the Updated Syllabus:

  • The Main Exam will include general studies, essay writing, language papers, and optional subject papers.
  • Greater emphasis will be placed on topics related to Uttarakhand’s history, culture, geography, and current affairs.
  • The optional subjects have been updated to allow candidates greater flexibility based on their academic backgrounds.
  • The revised format is designed to test both the academic knowledge and administrative aptitude of the candidates.

UKPSC officials stated that the changes were made after reviewing feedback from aspirants and subject matter experts, aiming to improve the overall selection process and match the evolving expectations of civil service roles.

Candidates are encouraged to visit the official UKPSC website to download the complete syllabus and understand the changes in detail. Aspirants preparing for the upcoming PCS examination are advised to plan their studies in accordance with the updated format to enhance their chances of success.

This move by UKPSC is seen as a positive step toward enhancing the quality and competitiveness of the state civil services examination system.
