New Delhi – Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Smt. Anupriya Patel, addressed the Regional Conclave at the Global Food Regulators Summit 2024, emphasizing the need for enhanced regional collaboration in food safety. She called for unity in pooling resources, sharing technical expertise, and aligning strategies to elevate the Asia region’s role in shaping international food standards.
In her speech, Smt. Patel emphasized the need for greater regional cooperation, highlighting how pooling resources and sharing technical expertise will enhance the region’s ability to shape international food standards. “Only through unity and cooperation can we elevate the region’s role in shaping international food standards,” she said.
She also stressed the importance of setting standards for emerging sectors such as aquaculture, processed foods, and organic farming, while adapting to new technologies like biotechnology and sustainable farming. The conclave underscored Asia’s pivotal role in creating a safer, healthier global food system through collaboration and innovation.
The summit served as a key platform for developing strategies to harmonize food safety standards across the region, ultimately benefiting the global food industry.
