Vikasnagar, February 14, 2025 — On the solemn occasion of Pulwama Martyrs’ Day, the Vikasnagar Athletics Club organized a 1600-meter race competition to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack. The event saw enthusiastic participation from local youth, reflecting both a spirit of patriotism and passion for fitness.
In the tightly contested race, Praveen Rana secured first place, followed by Sachin Chauhan in second, and Ayush in third. The top ten participants were honored with certificates of recognition, applauding their performance and commitment.
The event was inaugurated by the club’s founder, Prabhjot Singh, who began the program with a heartfelt tribute to the fallen soldiers. “This race is our humble effort to remember the supreme sacrifice of the Pulwama martyrs. It’s not just a competition, but a step toward building a generation that values discipline, service, and sacrifice,” he said.
Singh also shared that the club provides free physical training to local youth preparing for army and police recruitment, aiming to guide them toward a path of national service. He encouraged all participants to stay away from substance abuse and focus on building strong, healthy futures.
The event was attended by several local dignitaries and supporters including Rajesh Goyal, Tajinder Kaur, Ajay, Umesh Bhatt, Rishabh, Sandeep, and Sandesh, who all commended the club’s efforts in promoting youth development and patriotic values.
