Chamoli, February 27, 2025 — In the wake of the recent devastating avalanche in Chamoli district, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami swiftly took charge of the rescue and relief operations. He reached the Disaster Operations Center to get first-hand information on the situation and to coordinate the ongoing efforts.
During his visit, CM Dhami reviewed the latest updates from rescue teams, assessed the scale of the damage, and directed officials to ensure timely aid and support to affected families. He also assured that every possible resource would be deployed to manage the crisis efficiently.
The central government is closely monitoring the situation as well, with officials coordinating with state authorities to provide necessary assistance, including deployment of specialized rescue teams and relief materials.
The Chief Minister expressed solidarity with the victims and urged citizens to stay vigilant while following safety instructions issued by the administration. He emphasized that rescue operations would continue round the clock until all those trapped or affected are safely accounted for.
Local authorities, along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other agencies, are actively engaged in search and rescue missions, while efforts are underway to restore connectivity and essential services in the avalanche-hit areas.
