Dehradun, February 19, 2025 — Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan paid a courtesy visit to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the State Assembly in Dehradun on Wednesday. The meeting focused on discussions around regional security and upcoming defence-related initiatives in the state.
During the interaction, CM Dhami and General Chauhan exchanged views on several key issues related to national and state security. They also discussed the Indian Army’s ongoing and future programs to be held in Uttarakhand, which plays a vital role due to its strategic geographic location along international borders.
The Chief Minister praised the armed forces for their continuous service and contribution to national security and expressed the state government’s full support for any initiatives led by the defence forces in Uttarakhand. He also highlighted the significance of strengthening civil-military cooperation, especially in a disaster-prone and mountainous state like Uttarakhand.
General Chauhan acknowledged the state’s commitment to the armed forces and appreciated its role in supporting defence personnel and ex-servicemen. He also reiterated the Army’s focus on engaging with local communities through outreach programs and collaborative efforts in border areas.
