Dehradun, March 1, 2025 — In light of ongoing rescue operations near Mana in Chamoli district, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appealed to tourists to avoid traveling to high-altitude areas for the next three days. The warning comes after a massive avalanche struck the region, trapping several laborers.
Rescue teams, including NDRF and SDRF personnel, are working around the clock to locate and evacuate those caught in the avalanche. The operation is being closely monitored by the state government, with CM Dhami personally overseeing efforts from the State Disaster Operations Center.
Considering the adverse weather conditions, the Chief Minister advised travelers and pilgrims to postpone their trips to mountainous areas and prioritize safety. He emphasized that local authorities and rescue teams are fully mobilized and that any unnecessary travel may hinder ongoing operations.
The state government has also issued alerts and is coordinating with central agencies to ensure swift and effective relief efforts. Tourists are encouraged to stay updated through official channels and follow advisories issued by the administration.
