March 21, 2025 | Dehradun:
As March advances, Uttarakhand’s weather continues to show signs of seasonal transition. While the plains of the state are experiencing a steady rise in temperatures, some hill regions are enjoying cooler moments under partly cloudy skies.
According to the Meteorological Department, sunshine and clear skies across Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar are contributing to warmer days and rising mercury levels. Daytime temperatures in these areas are expected to inch higher through the week, signaling the early onset of summer-like conditions.
Meanwhile, mountain districts like Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Pithoragarh are witnessing scattered clouds, offering brief periods of relief from the warmth and keeping the chill slightly intact.
Looking ahead, weather experts have noted that a fresh western disturbance is likely to become active over the Himalayan region from March 24, which could bring light snowfall or rain in higher altitudes. However, no major weather alerts have been issued for now, and dry conditions are expected to continue across most parts of the state in the coming days.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated, use sun protection, and keep a check on local forecasts as temperatures in the plains continue to rise and weather patterns shift toward pre-summer conditions.
