From Dharali to Gangotri, medical teams stand guard round-the-clock under CM Dhami’s direction
In the wake of the recent disaster in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand’s Health Department has mobilised into swift action under the direct instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. From providing first aid to delivering specialist care, health teams are stationed across affected regions — including Dharali, Gangotri, and Chinyalisaur — working tirelessly to ensure no resident or rescued pilgrim is left without medical assistance.
128 Rescued in Dharali–Matli Operation, 25 Given First Aid
Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar reported that on Friday, 128 people airlifted from Dharali were brought to Matli via helicopter. Every individual underwent a health screening by the stationed medical team. While most were found to be in stable condition, 25 required immediate first aid, which was promptly administered on site. One patient in critical condition was referred to the Uttarkashi District Hospital for advanced treatment.
76 Passengers Screened in Chinyalisaur – All Declared Healthy
At the Chinyalisaur helipad, medical officers examined 76 passengers recently rescued from affected zones. All were found fit and were cleared to continue their journey. Doctors also provided health advice and preventive guidance to the travellers.
District Hospital Treating 9 Patients Under Specialist Care
Currently, nine patients remain admitted at Uttarkashi District Hospital, where they are receiving treatment under the close supervision of specialist doctors. According to Dr. Kumar, all necessary facilities and expert consultations are being arranged to ensure comprehensive care.
